"It lacks consistency ... but it’s still incredibly listenable."

More Action Bronson More Action Bronson

It’s a curious career move, from chef to hip hop artist, but Arian Arslani aka Action Bronson has made it, and the result is a jam-packed discography of cutting-edge, mixtape-inspired records of which Mr. Wonderful is the latest.

Arslani’s passion is unquestioned, and the guest producers and rappers he employs (Mark Ronson, Chance the Rapper, Meyhem Lauren) only add to the quality of the record. It lacks consistency, which separates Mr. Wonderful from hip hop classics, but it’s still incredibly listenable. If one of those MasterChef dudes dropped a rap record, it wouldn’t be shit on this.
