He’s 35 now. Are you still doing the same thing you were 19 years ago? Even so, for a bloke who’s rummaged around more musical styles than a desperate DJ trying to get just one person to dance at a listless wedding, the assured gospel of Preach will shock, as will the debts owed to D’Angelo and Justin Timberlake’s techno’n’b for Aerial Love and Late Night Drive. Surprising – and then some.
