"Emperors still have plenty of juice left in the tank and aren’t afraid to use it."

Proving that the Australian west coast is still a fertile breeding ground for quality rock bands, Perth three-piece Emperors return with their third full-length, Chupacabra.

It’s a solid, consistent rock album that channels equal parts Jebediah and Foo Fighters, treading the line between DIY and stadium rock expertly. There’s no standout lead single like 2012’s Be Ready When I Say Go from Stay Frosty, and at times it does get bogged down a little, but it’s lyrically solid and shows that Emperors still have plenty of juice left in the tank and aren’t afraid to use it.
