2:54 stick to a predictable formula but it all comes together brilliantly

More 2:54 More 2:54

Sister act 2:54 follow in the footsteps of acts like Ladytron with their shadowy Goth pop.

Their second album comes on sounding immersive as they deal tunes wrapped in the allure of atmospheric synths that mysteriously swirl around in listeners’ ears. Underscoring this fog of sound are post-punk indie guitars referencing The Cure and the full-bodied lusciousness of vintage 4AD. Even in their more ferocious moments they reign like ice queens, their hypnotic, dispassionate vocals drifting across the mix. 2:54 stick to a predictable formula but it all comes together brilliantly on tunes like Raptor.
