"Think Jhene Aiko meets Cassie, with a hint of Ciara."

More Tinashe More Tinashe

The debut album from California-raised Tinashe falls somewhere between mainstream, radio-friendly R&B and the electro, new-age alternative that’s transformed the urban genre in a big way recently.

You’ll either be hooked by the first three tracks (Aquarius, Bet, Cold Sweat) or lose interest as the ambient sound flows in and out without a great deal of change. If you’re hooked though, things amp up with lead single, 2 On, and the rest of the record switches up interestingly, with plenty of phat beats and synths to make you dance. Think Jhene Aiko meets Cassie, with a hint of Ciara.
