"This album is perhaps the accessible gateway into his oeuvre for those more accustomed to pop"

More Steve Reich More Steve Reich

Reich’s position in the canon of 20th century classical music is unquestioned, so forays outside of his comfort zone are never really that risky. Yet a piece inspired by reworking two Radiohead tunes, Jigsaw Falling Into Place and Everything In Its Right Place, does sound a little odd for the master of minimalism. The result is a compelling, if rather poppy by his standards, journey. Also featured are two suites of more traditional-sounding, repetitive Reich material. A nice listen for fans, this album is perhaps the accessible gateway into his oeuvre for those more accustomed to pop.
