"Phantom Radio is a darkly glittering, almost gothic album"

Surely it’s weird the guitar-wielding Lanegan, in recent interviews, has been talking up the convenience of writing beats on his phone without having to fire up his TR909? Phantom Radio is a darkly glittering, almost gothic album that delivers some disturbing lyrical imagery and brooding atmospherics. Lanegan continues experimenting with synth pop and strangely The Killing Season feels like Royksopp soundtracking the mind of a serial killer. It’s the heartfelt emotion of I Am The Wolf, the solid rock stomp of Harvest Home and Lanegan’s worldweary croon that deal most satisfaction. A welcome addition.
