"Cosmic Logic is a tasty slice of digital eco-beat tourism"

Abandoning their lo-fi roots for a cleaner, brighter dance-pop sound, Cosmic Logic is packed with cutesy funk oddities such as Telephone Call. However, the cleaned up sound only serves to highlight vocalist’s Indra Dunis’ ditzy monosyllable clichés. Whilst Peaking Lights’ earliest releases were dusted in seductively indistinct fuzziness, it may have had the unforeseen advantage of disguising their limitations as songwriters. From a strictly beats perspective, Cosmic Logic is a tasty slice of digital eco-beat tourism through the Caribbean and into the interstellar unknown, but it’s all a bit lightweight.
