Album Review: Various - Wish I Was Here Soundtrack

Just like he did with the music accompanying his directorial debut, 2004’s Garden State, Zach Braff captures the zeitgeist running through his new slice of cinematic pie, Wish I Was Here. The care that Braff has taken in curating this record is palpable – established pieces of perfection (Bon Iver’s Holocene, Paul Simon’s The Obvious Child) sit comfortably with new songs from The Shins, Cat Power & Coldplay and The Head & The Heart – and the flowing motif that plays out leaves you lingering on treasured memories, staring blindly through the present crossroads of your life.
