The Melbourne favourites are about to set off for an eight-date tour in support of the single.

Lauded Melbourne indie-folk outfit Tinpan Orange set off for a tour in support of new single Wanderers next month, but before they hit the road they've unveiled the tune's accompanying video, premiering today on theMusic.com.au.

Filmed and edited by Sinem Saban, the black-and-white video was shot in the director's house using her daughters dolls, the band's Emily Lubitz said, "as our kids ran wild around us".

"It's about capturing an introspective and phlegmatic mood and putting it next to the dynamic scenes of Annie Oakley riding her horse with great purpose and flair," she said in a statement.

"It's about what we dream of doing while we sit, unmotivated in our bedrooms. The song has other layers to it as it also describes the feelings around a miscarriage I had earlier in the year, but the clip doesn't touch on that. Some things are meant to be heard and not seen."

The band will set off for their eight-date tour from Friday 20 October, when they get under way at The Workers Club in Geelong, heading to Melbourne the following night (they'll be joined by Jess Ribeiro in support for both shows).

They head to Darwin (support TBA) and Fremantle (Lucy Peach) thereafter, then Ribeiro joins them again for shows in Sydney and Brisbane. They round out with a spot at the Mullum Music Festival and a show in Hobart, at the Republic Bar, on Saturday 25 November (with Seth Henderson).
