Looking past the traditional pub exterior and Scottish title, you’ll find a charming atmosphere rich in Spanish culture.

The Robert Burns Hotel – the name and the exterior doesn’t really scream Spanish culture. But on entering, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The traditional 1860s hotel was taken over by the Spanish-born Urbano Gutierrez in 1984 who introduced the flavours of Spain to this once-conventional pub.

Celebrate Summer by sampling some dishes from the Galicia region that showcase the best of the sea, combined with summery salads and classic house-made chorizo or oysters with gazpacho.

To complement the meals, The Robert Burns Hotel provides an extensive wine list. If wine’s not your thing, there’s always Spanish cider or beer – Estrella is always on tap, and the ever-popular sangria or a sweet vermouth over ice is always an option.

Chef Marc Albalate has lived in many cities in Spain and Europe and he brings his passion for Spanish cuisine and dedication to his work to create the most authentic and traditional food alongside his team.

 

Fun Fact

NYE brings in a little Spanish culture in the form of lucky grapes. This tradition involves eating a grape on each toll of the bell at midnight – it’s said to bring a year of luck and prosperity.
