Album title? Glow And Fade

Where did the title of your new album come from? It's one of Steve Kilbey's lyrics from one of the songs: "We played for Time / We were made / To glow and fade / Decayed of love / I was dismayed with / All I forgave you".

How many releases do you have now? This is the fifth studio album, eighth if you include three additional albums of commissioned songs.

How long did it take to write/record? Six months from inception to completion. Our fastest album ever. Sometimes it's like squeezing blood from a stone, other times albums write themselves. We got lucky with this one.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? For me, it was a new location (moved from Melbourne to Tasmania) which helped renew my excitement at making music.

What's your favourite song on it? The Game Never Changes, a 16-minute space rock epic, in which I finally nailed a half decent solo!

Will you do anything differently next time? Probably not! We've always wanted to do a crooner thing or something classical, and maybe we will one day, but there's nothing wrong staying within your comfort zone.

When and where is your launch/next gigs? 26 May, Glow And Fade is released on Golden Robot Records. The vinyl version is released 28 Jul.
