Grey Garden Projects just opened up, and we can already see this becoming a Fitzroy staple.
The bright, beautiful space is the new permanent home of Speakeasy Cinema, as well as a gallery, project space, and coffee bar and larder. Their menu is small but completely solid, featuring breakfast staples including sticky date buckwheat and quinoa bircher, one-person buffet lunch smorgasbords with a bit o' this and that, soup jars (convenient to eat while you're watching a movie there!), and a selection of smorrebrods (open sandwiches) — popular options include the house cured salmon gravlax with house made quark, and the brined chicken served on a potato and leek remoulade (pictured above). The sandwiches are made with delicious schwarzbrot bread from Dench Bakers. For drinks, they use Three Thousand Thieves coffee, they make a mean chai, have six lush teas on offer from The Staple Store and also sell Green Street Co pressed juices. Sweet things? A selection of baked treats, many gluten-free and vegan.
