Hot Spot: Barrio Cellar

21 July 2015 | 12:48 pm | Staff Writer

From the minds behind Barrio Chino comes a new late night Mexican eatery and tequila bar, Barrio Cellar.

Opening until 3am from Wednesday to Saturdays, and with a cosy speakeasy vibe, Barrio Cellar is an ideal place to just hang out and while away the hours, eating and drinking, until you're good and ready to go home. The menu features Mexican street food items such as tacos, fish ceviche tostadas, bacon-wrapped hotdogs with pico de gallo and cheese and jalapenos, as well as the renowned Barrio Burger, which along with the Tommy's Margarita is one of the few things to cross over from Barrio Chino. Drinks-wise, try the Naked Lady (strawberry infused agudo blanco, cointreau, lemon, and bitters), Bodega Vistalba 'Progenie' Bubbles (Argentina) and Mexican cervezas (beer). Rotating daily Happy Hour specials will keep you coming back.
