"Fringe Wives Club feels like the awakening of a long overdue overhaul in comedy"

When the lines of feminism and comedy intersect, a prominent feature of a show is inevitably going to be consent. Glittery Clittery - A ConSENSUAL Party is the late night offering of Fringe Wives Club, the all-singing, all-dancing, all-slaying collective of Rowena Hutson, Tessa Waters and Victoria Falconer-Pritchard.

While the trio are literally making a song and dance (or five) about feminism, the female body and the nature of consent, the ladies haven't skimped on comedic quality. Every joke, gesture and bit hits the mark with absolute precision, and it's a total joy to watch. Fringe Wives Club feels like the awakening of a long overdue overhaul in comedy - where what is shied-away from is celebrated and what is swept under the rug is exposed for all to see.

It's confronting while catchy, brazen while bizarre, topical while titillating. In so many other cases, the balance would certainly tip in one direction, but Glittery Clittery has dual agendas that are equally and hilariously given. The show, in multiple ways, is a safe space for those who want to understand the trials of a modern woman even further. The Wives, and in turn, the crowd, are completely devoid of judgement and respect those who don't wish to take as much a part in the show.

To be educational in comedy is hard, and being comedic in education is even harder. Fringe Wives Club nail it with a wink, a smile and an amazing set of costumes.
