Theatresports National Championships

"We feel like we are a part of it as we cheer on the absurdity that happens on stage and yell out suggestions for scenes."

The idea is simple. Four states and one territory battle it out, live on stage, in a multi-round short-form improv competition to determine the greatest theatresports team in Australia!

Theatresports not only gives the crowd a chance to see up-and-coming comic actors from around the country, but we feel like we are a part of it as we cheer on the absurdity that happens on stage and yell out suggestions for scenes.

Different games, from Dance About It, to Switch/Change/Substitute to a Battle Hymn make every scene entertaining, but it was the Jibberish Opera from the Victorian team, with expert equine skills that really stole the show.
