Alison Wonderland Tour Diary: Part One

The DJ/singer goes "Fishing" at Splendour and meets a bizarro version of Fred Durst.

Splendour In The Grass

This is one of my favourite festivals and the first festival I've ever played at. This year was really exciting because I was playing two sets at the mix-up tent on the Saturday night. In the last set I got to perform my own song with the guys from Fishing rapping next to me!  That was the first time I have ever played my own song to a crowd, I have never been so nervous. This is me with the Fishing guys, post nervousness. My favourite acts this year included Lorde, Hermitude, James Blake, Hayden James, Violent Soho, Flight Facilities, What So Not and Flume.

Bendigo

Oh Molly...

This was the first time I had been to Bendigo and I didn't know what to expect, but it was awesome and everyone was delightful. That is a photo of Molly my dog watching me pack, she didn't want me to leave. I think Molly understands what happens after packing…I miss her when I am away.

Ballarat

Despite the freezing cold of Ballarat, the music scene was amazing there!  I haven't played in front of such an open minded crowd in ages and it made me very happy. Contrary to what I just said, pretty sure I met bizarro Fred Durst that night as well.

Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'.

Newcastle

Here are our bus drivers from Newcastle. Herbie and Steve.

Safety first!

Academy, Canberra

This had to be arguably my favourite Canberra gig ever. IT WAS CRAZY.  I was scared of getting squashed!

That shit CRAY!

On the way home we stopped off to touch the Big Marino's Balls. As you do...

Balls. Enough said.

Midweek mix of next single.  Stopped up to Forgotten Valley Studios up in the bush somewhere, mixing with Mr Scott Horscroft.

Jammin'.

Brisbane

Gearing up for the Brissy crowd.

Waiting for my gig in Brisbane at the hotel. Gig was AWESOME. Had breakfast the day after at some café which had a chicken called Pumpkin. Sure? Safe to say I didn't have eggs or chicken that morning.

Pumpkin-chicken stew anyone?

I thought I would include this pic of Johann at my show being drunk and moustached.

Peace out!
