Teenager can't understand the hype over INXS

While there is a lot of renewed interest in Australian rock group INXS thanks to the current TV mini-series, not all of the Australian music-listening public is happy about it.

There are a growing number of voices who are expressing a disinterest towards the band and can't fathom why everyone is talking about them.

One of the main detractors is 16-year-old Felicity Bowsan, or 'Flicbabe' to her Facebook friends. Speaking exclusively to SPA Confidential through her MySpace account, Flicbabe said that not only were INXS “boring” but she said the show was “shit” as well.

“It's really boring,” she said. “I don't know why they made a show about this boring new band when they could have made one about Bruno Mars or Rihanna or Taxiride.”

Flicbabe added, “It's a shit show as well. I mean, it's a show about bands, right? So where are all the other contestants? It went on for, like, over and hour and there were no judges either.”

An avid TV consumer, Flicbabe said that she hoped the second episode would be more similar to Packed To The Rafters, The Voice or Celebrity Splash.

“It's annoying because now I have to watch to see how it ends,” she said. “That Michael Hutchence dude isn't even that cute – he's got a mullet. No way I'll be going to his next tour. I really hope he doesn't win.”

She continued, saying that “One thing I really hate is when bands play other peoples' songs, they're usually heaps shitter. Like, if you're going to play Samantha Jade's Never Tear Us Apart you could at least mention her.”

On a separate note, Flicbabe said that she was disappointed Kyle and Jackie-O had left the Today network and that she was willing to swap to their new station but had not yet figured out how to program mum's in-car radio to a new preset.”
