What Really Happened At BIGSOUND

There's been a lot of talk coming out from BIGSOUND this week, with lots of deals done and discussions progressing.

Not all is as is seems though, and SPA Confidential has picked itself up after three nights of research in search of the truth. Did someone say any of these to you? This is what really happened:

CLAIM: “I really got into that set, was wild.” – Delegate
FACT: Nodded head in time with arms folded.

CLAIM: “We're relocating to England for six months to record and we've hooked up a prime residency in Newcastle.” – Band
FACT: Have been offered to crash at a bloke's couch every time they play in Newcastle, NSW.

CLAIM: “Was really keen on seeing your band, but got stuck in the crowds at another venue.” – Promoter
FACT: Never left Ric's backyard.

CLAIM: “Found this new act, not going to make anything official but are making a significant investment in their career.” – Manager
FACT: Gave a busker $2.

CLAIM: “Yeah, big night. Was about to leave at midnight but ran into a key business contact and went over some details.” – Delegate
FACT: Found a bar tab, discussed whether Steve Earle or Billy Bragg is cooler with a local.
