Harrison Craig Making The ‘Chinese Democracy’ Of Reality TV Albums

The Voice winner is making the ‘Chinese Democracy’ of Reality TV albums.

It has been one hell of a career for Harrison Craig, who was crowned winner of Channel Nine's The Voice earlier in the week, with highs and lows now culminating in an awkward creative impasse that has seen his album take almost an entire day to record.

After winning the title on Monday night the artist found himself the darling of the press for most of Tuesday morning and enjoyed some very strong sales figures all the way through to early that evening, before the career – as it does – took a turn.

Reports are that Craig's previously guaranteed number one single might not become a reality at the end of the week circulated on Wednesday afternoon and it has reportedly sent the 18-year-old into a fit of creativity as yet unseen by a reality show winner.

Sources kind of close (but not too close) to the artist say that Craig is chewing through studio time looking to make his debut LP More Than A Dream, his opus.

“We're calling it the Chinese Democracy of reality TV albums,” a frustrated and quick talking source close to the studio in which Craig is currently holed up said.

“He's not writing songs in a sandpit or anything and I'm fairly sure he hasn't tried LSD – at least none of mine is missing – but the young fella is trying far too hard. He won the show, he's gonna sell a shitload of albums and with any luck he'll get to do a tour and get laid once or twice before switching to musical theatre and begging for appearances on morning TV.”

The album is estimated to have taken upwards of ten hours to make, an amount of time unheard of for a reality TV show winner.

“Usually we're in and out within about four hours, but at this rate we probably won't be done until at least 7 o'clock tonight,” the source said. “We're all just so confused, we've never been in this position before. We're kinda freaking out, to be honest.”

More Than A Dream is out through Universal on Tuesday 25 June. Reports are that it sounds very similar to what you'd expect from a dude who won The Voice.
