Syd Fringe: Circaholics Anonymous

Arson is a fiery issue. What are the morally sound fire lovers of the world to do? For Circaholics Anonymous, it’s to spin the flames amidst choreographed dance routines, stylistically simulated sword fights and much vaunted ‘twirl offs’. Occasionally, enormous rings of amber dash into the air, the warmth enough to heat the entire crowd. ‘Oohs’ and ‘aahs’ ensue. As an amateur self-funded group, nobody expects the kind of physical storytelling on the scale of a Cirque du Soleil, but look past the awkward dialogue and there’s some intriguing stuff indeed.
