EP PREMIERE: The Silent Sea - Blackwood

Perth's The Silent Sea release their debut EP, Blackwood, tomorrow, 9 June, but before it lands The Music is stoked to be bringing you a premiere listen today.

A five-track collection of deceptively simple but effective chill-rock goodness, Blackwood ably showcases The Silent Sea's many strengths, including sweet harmonies, polished but authentic vocals, and an innate pop sensibility that never oversteps, but rather helps the songs sail along effortlessly through the peaks and troughs of their uniformly sunny soundscapes.

The band is a relatively new concern, having only come together in 2015 before making their live debut last year, though their inaugural collection of songs suggests musical maturity well beyond that short time frame. With this release tucked under their arms and a desire to make their mark on the local scene, we expect to hear a bunch more from this group of aspirant artists in the future.
