WrestleBrainia (MICF)

This is an enjoyable one for those within the inner sanctum.

The panel show format is an easy one to translate from the screen to the stage. MICF has done it for years with the likes of Late Night Letters And Numbers and Don't You Know Who I Am?, and now the team behind WrestleBrainia can proudly boast their name upon the list.

Paying tribute to the slew of professional wrestling based entertainment throughout the years, WrestleBrainia brings their weekly game show to an audience of RAW diehards and WWE fanatics. The mainstay trio of Geoff Setty, Clem Bastow and Cam Tyeson bring an eclectic mix of fellow comics and local wrestling royalty out for an hour of trivia, comedy and all things relative to lycra-clad muscles.

While the comedic talent on offer is superb, WrestleBrainia is definitely not for the random punter off the street. Only those acutely tuned-in to the sport and its goings-on will get the majority of the references and jokes made throughout the show, so prior knowledge is a bit of a must for WrestleBrainia. Having said that, there is scope for those who may wish to learn a little more about the sport(?), and the lunacy that goes on within the world of wrestling.

WrestleBrainia is one of the less successful of the MICF panel shows due to its lack of broader accessibility. Nonetheless, this is an enjoyable one for those within the inner sanctum.

Catch WrestleBrainia till 23 Apr at Imperial Hotel, part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
