You might not have heard of TURKISH PRISON yet, let us enlighten you. MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS member and Melbourne-dweller Andrew Szekeres also happens to be a mighty fine producer of electronic music, and he's just started releasing under the name of - you guessed it - TURKISH PRISON.
The first TURKISH PRISON tune comes in the form of a video. And what a video it is indeed. The single 'Ancient City' is a hypnotic world-music inspired deep house ballad filled with silken percussions and airy reverb-laden synths.
The video for 'Ancient City' is just as hypnotising and maze-like as the tune itself. We follow our subject character climbing a ladder on a never-ending upwards track, spliced with different and ever-changing locales whilst the music unfolds into synthesiser movements and vocal patterns.
Published through the influential SIBERIA RECORDS (also home to the MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS), 'Ancient City' is the first single from the newcomer TURKISH PRISON. With such a solid statement revealed as his first offering, we're excited to see what he's got up his sleeve next!
