The brand-spankin’-new video for Purple Yellow Red & Blue from PORTUGAL. THE MAN centres around an incredibly epic Coachella round-trip
The brand-spankin’-new video for Purple Yellow Red & Blue from PORTUGAL. THE MAN depicts a beautifully mustachioed John Baldwin Gourley and centers around what I can only assume to be a particularly gnarly journey to and from the spiritual centre of every hipster – better known as Coachella, at which the band performed a set (poignantly reviewed by Danny Devito).
If you’re keen to see the frontman of Portland-based, Alaskan-bred PORTUGAL. THE MAN be his ‘great’ self while he rocks ironic Hawaiian shirts with winter jackets, or share the pimp-tastic limo I rented out for my Year 12 formal with a girl doing her best impression of the three-eyed crow from Game of Thrones, Gourley’s got you covered.
If your tastes run a little simpler than that, leaning towards excessive T and A and chicks pouring milk all over their naked bodies…well, actually, you’re still covered.

In 2012 we featured PORTUGAL. THE MAN and told you – rightly – that it was going to be a big year for them. 2013 has been bigger, as we’ve seen one exciting announcement after the other; it’ll also see the release of their eighth studio album, Evil Friends, produced by Bryan Burton – better known by his stage name, ‘Danger Mouse’.
Evil Friends will be released on June 4, 2013 and is available for pre-order now on iTunes; Gourley et al. will follow its release with a packed tour schedule that includes Splendour in the Grass.
Burton is one half of Gnarls Barkley and, as a producer alone, has worked with artists like The Black Keys, Gorillaz and Beck.
