Nasty Mars' awkward swagger is captured perfectly in his new video clip for his single 'Ioana'
If you see a lot of live music in Melbourne, you're probably familiar with NASTY MARS as an enigmatic live performer. His new video clip for 'Iona' goes to show it translates to the online world too.
The clip, shot by the talented Tig Terra and Gina Nero perfectly encapsulates Mars' trademark goofy swagger. Between clever light filled framing he croons over his unique blend of soul, R&B and jazz. There's an infectious charm to the vulnerability and honesty in his lyricism displayed throughout his work.

Despite his limited releases, Nasty Mars' reputation proceeds him. His one of those artists that only has two tracks on Soundcloud but everyone knows about him. You may have heard him through his close collaborative relationship with Baro, featuring on his latest releases "LAY U//DOWN SEXY" and "Wdubi". However, the love he receives is purely a product of his own talented songwriting.
The mark of true performer, it's in the live setting alongside his live band where Mars really shines. In the past month alone, he joined Baro on his recent national tour, supported Fortunes. and the hyped Winston Surfshirt as well as headlining his own show.
Bad luck if you slept on it though, because according to Mars, he won't be playing shows for a while. Hopefully it's as sign of new music to come. In the mean time, you can enjoy the clip above or check out his Soundcloud.
