A newly-blonde Cat Power takes on the American desert in her latest clip for single 'Cherokee.'

Indie babe Chan Marshall aka CAT POWER goes blonde for the clip for her single 'Cherokee' from new album SunAnd boy does it get supernatural (crystals! glowing triangles!) and violent.

Marshall and friends flee persecution through the post-apocalyptic American desert. Although she seems really quite distressed, she's still go her cigs and her beer and is always ready to go. She's got her hard arse bad grrl outfit, new blonde locks and a pair of combat boots- she's a fighter.

Zombie-like people are shot and fall about, all while the jaw-dropping scenery steals the show in the background.  And Marshall just keeps on running. As all film buffs agree, there's nothing as good as plenty of slow-motion running. And of course at the end she meets up with old friends and they all hug it out.

'Cherokee' is indie pop with a rough edge. It's her signature gravelly voice that really cuts in and brings out all the emotion in lyrics that expound upon themes of love, loss and pain. Yes, this is the Cat Power we all know and love.
