We’ve featured Melbourne singer/songwriter ALEX LASHLIE on Purple Sneakers before, but things are progressing so steadily for the up and comer we just had to get on board and check in with him once again.
This time around Lashlie is in the midst of releasing his second EP, Cosmic Shift In Life. He also has recently announced he is putting together a band in support of the release of the EP, aptly named Alex Lashie’s Growl. There is no word yet on who will feature in the band – but if Lashlie is at the helms of it, we know it’s going to be something special.

The first taste of Cosmic Shift In Life is in the form of an acoustic rendition of what can be assumed as Single, ‘Troubled Dawn’. Alex smashes this one out on his own and it is clear through this track that he focuses purely on stella songwriting in every creation, drawing inspiration from imaginary situations, travel and strong friendship.
It grabs the tendencies of classic country folk and then destroys the confines of the genre with its own magic formula to create a truly unique sound.
In true Alex Lashlie style, Cosmic Shift Of Life is to be released completely independently and will be available October 1st through all of Melbourne’s local independent record stores. The EP is to be launched at Melbourne’s LuWow on November 15th – with all of his ‘Growl’ in toe. As for the rest of the county/world – stay close to the band’s Facebook Page for more info on shows/release details.
