Album Review: Vessel Born - Stateless

StarStarStarHalf Star

"The six track wonder pulls back the curtains with one hell of an opener in Sleeping Giants."

Brisbane metalcore-esque dudes Vessel Born have drummed up a neat little following in almost no time at all.

Born from the ashes of local bands Copia, This Collision and Bound For Ruin, the five-piece's cred and ability impress on their debut EP. The six-track wonder pulls back the curtains with one hell of an opener in Sleeping Giants with Shaun Coar's on point dual vocals and the gnarly chest thumping chug riff at the close. Death Figure, No. 1's spoken word is ear-catching, Let Chaos Reign lets the fast snapbacks and clean chugs loose, and single Dressing a Dead Man is rightfully the release's flagship.
