For exploratory enthusiasts of electronic alt.pop seeking something a little out-there, Sisyphus Happy is worth a listen. Echoing Leonard Cohen, Kazas' deep, brooding vocals dominate these heavy, experimental tracks. The music itself is quite minimalist, but it doesn't build or lead to anything particularly interesting. Highlight I Should Know plods along pleasantly and is quite light in tone, breaking the dreariness, and occasional stodginess, of much of this EP. This unusual release should be commended for attempting something starkly different, but its prevailing flatness could struggle to find a broader audience.
