"2016 continues to be brutal."

This debut is a sweet collection of understated vintage reggae vibes that eases on down the rocksteady road to feel-good effect.

These guys have probably never been to Jamaica but this LP simply aches with dreams of Kingston and the sounds of rhythms laid down in the '70s without a hint of pastiche or cliche. The painfully tragic news is that once this album was recorded frontman Dan Klein, who's got a whole lot of Junior Murvin going on here, passed away from complications of ALS, a motor neurone disease. 2016 continues to be brutal.
