"A total hoot (sorry)."
Jumping between short skits and stand-up, Susie Youssef’s show is pure delight.
Youssef’s skits each encompass one simple concept (Youssef often playing two characters) but she manages, in all of a few minutes, to build a scene with a punchline that hits midway and continues to grow. Her stand-up style is down-to-earth, fresh and conversational, and she covers topics such as her love of creating backstories for old people, how she came to realise the way her Lebanese family celebrated Christmas was not how everybody did it, wondering whether she’s ‘doing life’ wrong or right, and strange examples of support/racism in a Facebook comment thread. A total hoot (sorry).
