"When she opens up with her angst-ridden upper register... the result is stunning."

We've heard this voice before, delivering a bleak cover of Winter Wonderland for a Captain America: Winter Soldier trailer back in 2014.

Now Sorrel Nation's new EP, containing the singles Kids On The Run and Watch Me As I Go, showcases the solid songwriting chops that the Canberra-via-London chanteuse has to go along with that evocative and versatile voice. Produced by Ian Barter [Amy Winehouse], the four original tracks feature understated arrangements that highlight the nuance of Nation's delivery; mostly what she gives us is a warm, mid-register croon, but when she opens up with her angst-ridden upper register on Watch Me As I Go and the soulful Undivided, the result is stunning.
