Album Review: Skullcave - Skullcave

13 January 2015 | 1:17 pm | Kane Sutton

"Each track as distinct and refreshing as the last."

The air is thick across all five tracks of this debut EP.

Opener, Hesitate sees the trio blend in some gruelling, sludgy guitar riffs and soaring, reverb-tinged vocals, before Acid Tone brings the vocals down to the low, grungy end, coupling it with some driving hooks, further pushing the band’s darker tones. The bass line in Echo Room will have many heads banging in a live setting, while the commanding drum beat makes its way to the fore in Forrest.

Fans of the genre will be all over this, each track as distinct and refreshing as the last.
