Album Review: Rogues On The Sea - Rogues On The Sea

They lie somewhere between Cold War Kids and The Black Keys with a dash of, dare I say, Coldplay.

It's not surprising that this piano driven alternative rock sounds epic; as with so many Perth acts, the Rogues capture a sense of space in their alternative rock universe. The ballads are interesting enough to engage you and the band also aren't afraid of going hell for leather on songs like City Of Gold and The Gamble.

Fortunately the trio don't want to be just another folk influenced act; they strive for melody over dark and brooding moods. They lie somewhere between Cold War Kids and The Black Keys with a dash of, dare I say, Coldplay.
