Rajendra Moodley

"More of a drama than a comedy."

Perhaps if this weren’t billed as a comedy show, its sad tone would not be so unexpected.

This is a one-man autobiographical play of sorts, Rajendra Moodley taking us through his life from when he was just a small weedy boy being bullied in school to his constant struggles getting work as an actor because of racial discrimination and stereotyping. Moodley is a fine storyteller and an engaging actor – but the show is more of a drama than a comedy, with few things to laugh about, as Moodley’s life is seemingly travelling in a pattern of one step forward, two steps back.
