"It conveys the optimism its title suggests balanced with the hint of melancholy the wingless among us feel everyday".
Written in rural Wales, the greatest surprise of Arla is its evocativeness.
Brief opener Olchon Flows sets the scene with an insistent urgency. Lead track Lockner Union is pleasantly disorienting; as if the best party of your life was themed 'dreary afternoon dancefloor'. Winged steals the show. It conveys the optimism its title suggests balanced with the hint of melancholy the wingless among us feel everyday. Programmer is more insistent and urgent again, spiced with a hint of nostalgia that would not be out of place on the score of Stranger Things. This EP is an all too brief, surprisingly resonant piece. Well worth your time.
