Let’s hope this is the future of popular music.

More Oliver Wilde More Oliver Wilde

This debut album from Oliver Wilde has been out overseas since June, so most of you probably know how great this is. It's clear that he inherently commands the breadth of nuances that plumbing emotional depths, both lyrical and instrumental, can muster; but the mastery of turning unnatural sounds into emotive hooks over this hour-long sonorous pop foray makes this album almost essential. Songs like the evocative Perrett's Brook stand out, only to meld into the hypnotic gossamer whisper of the next track – let's hope this is the future of popular music.
