Album Review: Mastodon - Live At Brixton

Nothing says Xmas like a pile-driving live rock album does it? Maybe it's the opportunity to find some personal headspace away from bickering family members, but after Led Zep and AC/DC celebrated last year with huge unit shifters, Warner are gambling with something even heavier; this runaway exhibition of dizzying prog techiness and caveman brutality that represents a virtual best of for the band.

In many ways an improvement on their last recorded onstage effort Live At The Aragon, Mastodon play with far greater freedom and finger-cracking, nerve shredding intensity. Horn this into your stocking metalheads.
