"It is doubtful that the album will turn too many heads."

Approaching the end of their third decade together, Buffalo's death metal merchants Malevolent Creation have seen their legacy marred in recent years by the downright bizarre behaviour of guitarist Phil Fasciana.

That aside, Dead Man's Path continues the band's tradition of old school death metal. Overall, it is doubtful that the album will turn too many heads. Malevolent Creation remain a staple of second-tier death metal, appeasing faithful fans but unlikely to convince any non-believers to explore the genre. That said, the almost-catchy Soul Razer and stomping 12th Prophecy hint that the band still have something to offer the scene.
