Described as an ‘electro-soul songstress’ LUCY SUNDAY has been slowly making moves in the deeply celebrity breached streets of LA. Her latest offering ‘Glow’ is a fantastic piece of music, reminding us all that unique music and talent is still out there in abundance.
Lucy Sunday has created a dreamy cover of Chet Faker’s ‘Talk is Cheap’ in the past, in addition to dropping some of her own original stuff. She has now announced her debut EP is on its way, with ‘Glow’ the first track offered up as a sneak peak.
Something about ‘Glow’ has a tribal feel. You might expect something shimmery and shiny with such a title, but there is something about it with a bit of grit. The jungle side sounds like something beautiful. It pretty much makes you want to be wherever Lucy Sunday’s head is at. At first because you are drawn in by the beauty, but as the track progresses it’s because you feel some kind of fear and urgency, and need to escape whatever it is driving you away from.
This is in fact what the track was about. Falling hard and fast for someone Lucy Sunday ran away to London to do whatever her mind needed to gain perspective. It is here ‘Glow’ was created. Teaming up with experimental electro producer William Arcane, ‘Glow’ is the type of track that requires two listens. One to hear the sultry and emotional vocals, and a second to listen to the intricate and rhythmic layers of sound.
