NAO's latest track ‘Girlfriend’ is definitely a track that makes even the hardest of hearts contemplate being/having a girlfriend.

NAO is one Brit who should definitely be on your radar. Her soulful vocals will surprise you at their pitch, and the direction they spin you in.

Her latest track ‘Girlfriend’ is the teaser for her soon to be released album, and it’s definitely a track that makes even the hardest of hearts contemplate being/having a girlfriend.

I know that most of you read ‘Girlfriend’ and hear that tragic but great Nelly/ Justin Timberlake from the early 2000’s play out tin your mind. Personally I thought track that was magnificent, but Nao seems to have taken a new hold on the title ‘Girlfriend’, and possibly out shone it (in her own way, because JT will always be a god).

It’s Nao’s soulful voice that takes charge on this account of how great a girlfriend she could be. The whole song feels very sensual, but there are some unique twists on the production side of thing that potentially allude to a darker side to this tale. Produced by Grades and Stint, ‘Girlfriend’ is a track where Nao really “went for it” and did exactly what she wanted, and felt.

Her album, For All We Know is due out on July 29 through Little Tokyo/RCA. In an interview with Annie Mac, Nao described it as being ‘Wonky Funk’. Definitely one to keep your eyes peeled for.
