Today, one of New Zealand’s most prominent hip-hop figures, JessB shares her new single 'FROM THA JUMP'. The track comes alongside a hard new visual created by Jodo Valley Productions. The track is the first original piece of music since her highly acclaimed 2020 EP, '3 Nights in Amsterdam'. Most recently, she's joined forces with with OKENYO to remix global star Saweetie’s collaboration with Doja Cat, “Best Friend”, as well as effortlessly polishing a rework of U.K rapper Kranium’s wavy single “Toxic”. It's via her energetic, outspoken and powerful sound that's cultivated JessB's fandom. With it, she's supported the likes of Lil Simz, Stormzy, YG and many more, as well as performing at Venice Biennale, Red Bull Music Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Laneway Festival.

On 'FROM THA JUMP', JessB glides over hard hitting 808s, flexing a clear cut confidence, as she celebrates the fruits of her sticking to her roots, putting on for her community, and wearing her identity on her sleeve. It's with this single, that JessB reflects on the artist that she has become and the importance of being yourself through that process of learning and dominating in your field. The track's music video features a collection of 'mini-me's', as JessB is featured surrounded by pyro-technics, drifting cars, representing her success to date. It's an ode to the shifting space of hip-hop in this part of the world and the way in which figures such as JessB are inspiring a new generation of young people to be creative.

JessB says on the track and video, “FROM THA JUMP’ is about staying true to the person you were from the beginning. Everyone changes as they grow and experience different parts of life, & the concept behind the song + the video by having “mini me’s” was reflecting on how little Jess would feel about where we managed to get to so far in music. I think she would be pretty stoked.”
