It’s been a long three years since those of us with discerning weird-pop taste lost our collective shit over DIRTY PROJECTORS’ second album Bitte Orca.
I’m sure for some, a majority of those years have been spent in agonising, torturous wait to hear what David Longstreth and his fellow evil geniuses of melody were going to come up with next.
Well we recently got our first glimpse with the excellent ‘Gun Has No Trigger’, and now the band have released the second single, ‘Dance For You’, off their forthcoming album Swing Lo Magellan and it is a joy. With handclaps and fractured guitar lines, gorgeous vocals and deadpanned lyrics (try “I boogied down gargoyle streets”) it’s an exciting promise of another truly special album.
