Vancouver-based producer BLOOD DIAMONDS has hijacked the latest CHVRCHES single 'THE MOTHER WE SHARE' and flipped it on it's head - upping the tempo and spinning the dreamy electropop bliss tones of the original into a super-euphoric drum & bass clash of hyper-rave ultra-reality.
The track starts of simply enough, with a boppy re-imagining of the original, but before long the remix descends down into the rabbit hole, decorated with ravey piano synths and frentic chopped vocal cuts all solidified with a huge rushing drum & bass (almost bordering on breakcore) rhythmic backbone. These sections all ebb and flow between one another, drums falling away to reveal a vocal break before yet again descending into a flurry of drums and happy harmonies.
All in all it's a very fun and bold re-take on the original cut and it definitely shows a lot of depth to BLOOD DIAMOND's production skills, however for some listeners it might prove to be a bit unrelenting after a few listens through - although it's somewhat clear that's what the producer was trying to achieve - a larger than life remix for a solid tune.
