Chromatics' share their latest track, a cut from the score of Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River.

Whilst Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River has been panned by the critical masses, at least we can rest assured that the music won't be half bad.

Helping out with the musical side of things is Johnny Jewel, of Chromatics, who's written the score for the fantasy noir film. This isn't the first time the group has dipped their toes in the film world - with Chromatics' 'Tick of the Clock" heavily featuring in Nicolas Winding Refn's 2011 flick, Drive.

The score features two new songs from the Portland synth group, who's hotly anticipated album 'Dear Tommy' is set to drop this year.

It comes after the 2012 full length release 'Kill For Love' which saw the group's exposure grow expeditiously after huge amounts of critically praise.

'Yes' (Love Theme From Lost River) isn't as poppy as the band's usual material. It's ambient and atmospheric, a slow burner that reaches its crescendo through a chorus of child like vocals that are evocatively lush and just a tad eerie.

In a press release, Johnny had this to say about the films score:

“When Ryan e-mailed me the script my immediate feeling was that the whole film should be sonically immersed in metal and water. I started sending Ryan music in February of 2013 for his early trips to scout locations. Ryan and I live seven minutes away from one another, so we’d watch the film at his house at night, and then we’d drive over to my house and experiment with musical ideas in my studio.”

'Yes' (Love Theme From Lost River)' is an exciting indication of the film's entire score and what's to come for the Chromatics.
