Joel Creasy: The Drama Captain

It would be easy to march into cliché country but he’s too clever for that shit- and while there were a few little kinks to still iron out, Creasy is definitely leading man material.

When you start your show with a song and dance number, even one you admit is a bit pitchy, you take a risk that's always going to get this writer on side. Creasy kept the jazz hands to a relative minimum during the rest of our flight and drama captainship, but the threat, and references, remained large and regular. Part narrative flashback from school, part comedic soundtrack to a recent breakup, the former Perth and drama class enthusiast is just camp enough to give some of the new wave a run for their money (Rhys Nicolson, Josh Thomas), but is distinct enough to be his own man (and paid those boys their due, too). It would be easy to march into cliché country but he's too clever for that shit- and while there were a few little kinks to still iron out, Creasy is definitely leading man material.
