"Tracks that never outstay their welcome."
So many ‘60s surfy garage bands out at the moment commit the same cardinal sin: being boring as shit. Jimmy Junk Heart avoids this with sharp songwriting and tracks that never outstay their welcome.
The handclaps and the rock’n’roll riffs and the nasally vocals are all there, but the EP never meanders – every song is driving towards a point, building up a groove and then moving on to the next thing before it gets old. It also helps that Jimmy Hanson has focused more on personal lyrics, making the record feel more direct and authentic.
