Album Review: Jessie Ware - Tough Love

StarStarStarHalf Star

She once again finds the perfect balance between electro, pop and soul

The second album is always a tricky one and considering Jessie Ware’s first, Devotion, was a Mercury Prize-nominated effort, the British singer has done a standout job with its follow-up, Tough Love.

Her gorgeous, clear vocals once again take the listener on an emotional, subtle and at times, sexy trip though love, pain and all that jazz. She once again finds the perfect balance between electro, pop and soul, which is also evident through her list of writers, including Julio Bashmore, Ed Sheeran and Miguel. Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe and Keep On Lying are highlights.
