"Clapton is one of the most tasteful guitarists ever to grace the stage and his large body of work marks him out as quite simply a legend."

More Eric Clapton More Eric Clapton

There’s no doubt Clapton is one of the most tasteful guitarists ever to grace the stage and his large body of work marks him out as quite simply a legend.

Strangely however, when you look at his body of work, there are some less than perfect moments. Clapton’s strengths lie in his ability to re-work the Blues and transcend that genre. His work with Cream accentuates this. His ballads, like Tears In Heaven, are always tasteful and well rendered. It’s on the commercial radio hits like Change The World and Wonderful Tonight where the lines get blurred.
